Emmanuel: God is With Us

Christmas is the celebration of “God with us” in Christ, through the miracle of the Incarnation. The action of God seeking and being with His people, is the overarching theme of the Bible. Christ with us is the reason for the season.

Unto Us A Son is Given

In the Garden, God was with us…

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze. Genesis 3:8

In the Wilderness, God was with us…

The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Exodus 40:34

In the Temple, God was with us…

When the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the Lord’s temple, and because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 1 Kings 8:10–11

In the Manger, God was with us…

See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.” Matthew 1:23

In Jesus, God was with us…

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

In the Holy Spirit, God is with us…

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

God made a great effort to be with us. This Christmas season, let’s take time to be with Him.

Like, follow, share.
