Bible
We believe that the books of the Bible’s Old and New Testaments were inspired by the Holy Spirit and are without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority on sin, salvation, faith and practice, sexual morality, biblical marriage, the Church, and in all other matters on which it speaks.
Trinity
We believe in one God, the Creator and Preserver of all that is visible and invisible. He is infinite in being and perfection. God exists eternally in three Persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who are of one substance and equal in power and glory.
Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God. Yet, fell from a sinless state by rejecting God’s truth and believing Satan’s lies. This fall plunged mankind into a state of sin and spiritual death, bringing divine condemnation upon the entire human race. From this condition a person can be saved by the love, grace and mercy of God, through faith in the Person and work of Jesus Christ, and by the agency of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the eternally existent Son who became incarnate through the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and being born of the virgin Mary. In the Lord Jesus Christ, His divine and human natures were united in one Person forever, both natures being whole, perfect and distinct.
Christ’s Sacrifice
We believe that to provide salvation, Jesus lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice — shedding His blood for the remission of sins to satisfy divine justice for all who believe.
Christ’s Return
We believe that on the third day He rose bodily from the dead, and that He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He performs the ministry of intercession as our great High Priest. He shall come again — personally, visibly, and bodily — in power and great glory to end this age, to exact judgment upon Satan and all who reject God, and to establish His kingdom upon the new Earth where He will reign from the new Jerusalem.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who applies the work of Christ to the people of Christ. By justification and adoption followers of Christ are given a right standing before God; by regeneration, sanctification, and glorification their nature is renewed; by the filling of the Holy Spirit Christians are empowered to serve in the Church and in the world.
Faith
We believe that those who genuinely turn to God in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, are accountable to God for living a holy, Spirit-filled life characterized by love for God and one another.
Regular Assembly
We believe that Christ’s people should regularly assemble together for prayer, for worship, for edification from the Bible, for participation in ordinances, and for mutual encouragement and care.
Eternal State
We believe that at Christ’s return, the bodies of the dead will be raised to eternal life and the wicked shall be condemned to eternal death. The righteous will receive an incorruptible body and enter into everlasting glory and blessing in God’s presence.
Nicene Creed
Our belief is succinctly expressed in the Church’s historic profession of faith, called the Nicene Creed (A.D. 325):
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
